At some point in my life, I would like to...
See at least one of these insanely talented gentlemen live on stage:
Benedict Cumberbatch
Tom Hiddleston
David Tennant
Go on a riding holiday in at least one of these places:
Scottish Highlands
Iceland
South Africa
(Mind you, I could fill an entire book-length bucket list of countries that I'd like to visit, on horseback or otherwise!)
Sing at a karaoke bar
But only if there's a song selection up to my taste, so probably not in Finland.
See these musicals on stage (I can't put an "at least one of these" on this one, these are all a must):
I saw a Finnish production of this once, but it was mostly dreadful so I demand another opportunity! |
Read all of Charles Dickens' works
So far, I've read Nicholas Nickleby, Oliver Twist, A Tale of Two Cities and A Christmas Carol.
Thinking up this list was really fun, so let's pass on the tag. Elwingda, Frankie Savage and Siiri L., are you up for the challenge...? I can't think of anyone else to tag, but everyone who happens upon this post is completely free to pick it up!
Argh! How could I not put "See Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston live on stage" on my list?! I've seen the live broadcasts of Frankenstein and Coriolanus but that's not really the same thing. I have seen David Tennant twice though. The first time I saw him do Much Ado About Nothing with Catherine Tate and then I saw him do Richard II. Yes, I'm well aware of how lucky I am :)
ReplyDeleteI'm longing to see Iceland and South Africa! And the Scottish Highlands even though I've seen parts of it before. I don't think I saw enough of it.
I was thinking of putting "See a play on Broadway" on my list but I thought visiting New York would encompass that. You can't go to New York without seeing a Broadway play/musical! It's like some kind of rite of passage or something!
I've seen a few of those musicals live. I love Wicked! I've seen it 3 times and I still love it just as much as I did the first time. I've seen The Lion King. I still prefer the movie but it was a great experience. I've seen Miss Saigon. It was brilliant! Eva Nobelezada (I think that's how you spell her name) was fantastic and the entire audience all stood up at the end. That's by no means guaranteed in a West End theatre! I know, I know, it's terrible that I haven't reviewed the musical yet.
Another musical that I saw on stage a few months ago and loved was Once. It's such a beautiful show and I completely recommend it :)
Aw, that's a lovely dog!
It's one of my dreams to live in either London or Edinburgh. Urgh, that's another one that could have easily gone on my list!
Once I get to a a fairly good level of French I'd like to learn either German or Italian. I'd like to learn some Welsh too because one of my friends speaks the language.
I did actually think about putting "Read all of Charles Dickens' works" but I've been put off by bad reviews of The Old Curiosity Shop. But I guess I should read it for myself and make my own mind. So far I've read David Copperfield, A Christmas Carol, A Tale of Two Cities, Great Expectations and Oliver Twist and I'm hoping to start Bleak House later this year. My favourite Dickens books so far have been David Copperfield & A Tale of Two Cities. The only book I didn't like was Oliver Twist (I much preferred the stage musical!)
That's a great aim! I really hope you'll get to do it :)
Oo, a tag! I'll add this to my To Do folder, thanks! :D
ReplyDeleteAlso, Iceland. Might steal visiting there for my own list... Though maybe it goes with my "See a live musical in each of the five Nordic countries" entry... ;)
Me again! I've just discovered that they're showing the Benedict Cumberbatch/Jonny Lee Miller Frankenstein production again this year. I had a look on the National Theatre live website and it looks like it's being shown in Finland!
ReplyDeleteOhh I'll really have to think hard about this one :D I want so many things from life!
